Jane Burke

Jane Burke

Therapies Practiced:

  • Sports Massage,
  • Swedish Massage,
  • Esalen Massage,
  • Myofascial Release,
  • Cranio-Sacral Therapy,
  • Therapeutic Touch,
  • Prenatal Massage,
  • Heated Stone Therapy

Jane is a graduate of Minneapolis School of Massage and Bodywork in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She received advanced training in Myofascial Release and Cranio-Sacral Therapy from John Barnes, Physical Therapist. She worked in private practice before accepting a position as an instructor of Deep Tissue Massage, Structural Assessment, Kinesiology and Sports Massage at Minneapolis School of Massage and Bodywork. Most recently, Jane studied deep tissue massage with teachers of advanced technique at North Shore Health Therapies and joined the staff as a massage therapist.

Jane is a professional member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals.

Jane shares her thoughts about massage therapy: "Massage therapy is a very personal experience from the viewpoint of therapist and client. I see the client’s body as whole rather than an assembly of parts. I feel each client has a unique rhythm and timing. I honor the client’s timing by listening carefully to their intention for the session and then to their body’s inner rhythm, allowing it to guide me during the session. In my experience, most bodies need to be brought gently back to center to achieve balance, wellbeing and optimal results. To quote from the Celtic author John O'Donohue, 'The body is your only home in the universe. It is your house of belonging here in the world.' During a session I wait for a client’s body to invite me to assist in reconnecting to their center.”
